What is bioidentical hormone replacement pellet therapy?
Bioidentical hormone replacement pellet therapy is a personalized approach to hormone replacement. It allows a patient’s body to absorb the right level of hormones at the right time using a delivery method the body can process efficiently.
Pellets are small capsules (about the size of a grain of rice) that contain bioidentical hormones like testosterone or estrogen. A bioidentical hormone is the exact molecular structure of hormones the body produces naturally.
They are inserted under the skin, where hormones enter the bloodstream as they dissolve over several months. Our studies show that patients may see the effects of hormone optimization up to four weeks after a pellet insertion. Everyone is unique and some people may feel the effects immediately, while others may take up to two or more pellet insertions before they feel full effects.
Hormones delivered by pellet therapy bypass the liver, do not affect clotting factors, do not increase the risk of thrombosis, and avoid the fluctuations of hormone levels some patients may experience. Biote® bioidentical hormone pellets are made from soy or the yam plant to create estradiol and/or testosterone molecules. How can I get started with BHRT with Biote?
PROGRAM DETAILS
REGISTER ONLINE
Complete the program registration form and program intake forms.
When completing the program registration form, you will also choose your preferred Labcorp or Quest locations (for required labwork) and the preferred date for your lab tests. Please allow 48 hours between registration and lab date. Program registration requires an appointment fee ($199) and a lab fee ($150).
COMPLETE LABWORK
After completion of Step 1, you will receive an email confirming the lab tests have been ordered at your chosen location. Labs should be performed in the morning and after fasting for at least 8 hours.
INITIAL APPOINTMENT WITH DR. PHILLIP L. REED
After receipt of clinical intake forms and completed labwork, our program coordinator will contact you to schedule your initial appointment with Dr. Reed.
At your initial appointment, you will come to our office to meet Dr. Reed, discuss your labs, program suitability and have your pellets inserted. Procedure and pellet cost per round is $395 for females and $775 for males. You will also schedule Round 2 at your initial appointment. (This date is flexible based on need.)
POST INSERTION
Expect a follow-up call 24 hours and 4 weeks after the pellets are inserted.
Expect sensitivity at the insertion site.
Improved hormonal effects set in at different rates for different people.
PRIOR TO ROUND 2
Our office will contact you several weeks before your scheduled appointment to arrange for updated labs. The repeat lab fee is $100.
